Why we use wine cooler?
It is a device that stores/ages the wine bottles at optimal serving temperature. Did you just notice the word – ‘Optimal Serving Temperature’?
Storing wine requires some professional techniques. So that it also needs specialized devices to store. Such as, you cannot save wine in the oxygen-rich air as it is the main culprit behind the wine faults. That’s why we see corks with a sealed wine bottle. (source)
Get insight of wine storage temperature
As you already know that – heat and direct sunlight is another culprit for damaged wine. Evidence suggests that wine ages four times faster at average room temperature.
Once Dr Fulvio Mattivi (who is a food scientist at FMACH) tasted more than four hundred bottles of wine. Half of that bottles were kept at normal room temperature and the other half was kept in a professional wine cellar over the time span of two years. Later on, he proved that wine ages 4X faster than bottle kept in a professional wine cooler.
According to the wine folly – The ideal wine storage temperature is 55 – 59 °F (12 – 15 °C) and 55 – 75% humidity.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Wine cooler Vs Refrigerator
THREE essential points distinguish the standard refrigerator and a wine chiller.
- Temperature
- Vibration
- Humidity
Explanation
✤ Wine requires a constant temperature to ensure perfect aging. To keep the original vintage taste, the temperature level is significant. A wine cooler is professionally capable of doing the job smartly. Whereas a typical refrigerator cannot keep the temperature constant.
✤ The refrigerator lowers the temperature according to the weather & inside objects. It also dries up the foods kept inside for the longest time.
✤ The ideal device also needs to ensure that the corks are in moisture. Due to humidity factor, the corks might dry up and get shrinker. It even can passes oxygen through the bottle. So, a constant temperature is critical to ensure that corks are okay.
✤ Often standard refrigerators create a high amount of vibration which acts opposite to wine maturation process.
✤ Moreover, if you are a vintage wine collector (probably have both red and white wine), then you will be needed two different temperature to store them. Nowadays – Dual zone wine cooler helps to keep separate temperature zone.
✤ In a refrigerator, an already opened bottle might become tasteless due to having another odor within. Again, the sturdy appearance of shelves offers great joy for regular drinkers.
✤ Also, a passionate drinker (probably it’s you) might need a small piece of the cooler which is movable and suitable for anywhere. There are Some Countertop versions with an average bottle quality of 8 to 15.
✤ There are also thermoelectric coolers that produce low vibration and noises. Our previously published comprehensive FAQ guide might help you in this regard.
